Sculling Lessons

Scullers on the JamesThe Virginia Boat Club offers sculling lessons to members and non-members. If you're interested in lessons, click here to add your name to the waiting list.  We will contact you when your next for lessons.

Lesson Details

The program consists of five 90 minute lessons, where you are paired with an instructor to learn the basics of sculling.  Depending on instructor availability, lessons are conducted from our downtown boathouse or the Robious Landing boathouse.  Lessons are dependent on the weather/river conditions and typically are held from May through October.

You will learn proper blade technique, body position, river awareness, boating safety and boat care. The cost of the five lesson course is $250, and non-member graduates of the course are eligible to join VBC at a discounted rate.
