VBC Boat Reservation Procedures - Updated in 2007

RESERVATIONS WILL BEGIN IN APRIL 2007
Reservation Sheets Available at each Boathouse the First Sunday of the Month

Learn to Row Classes will begin in April (sculling) & May (sweep) - Please be sure to view LTR class schedules posted at Downtown Boathouse.
Boat Reservations will go into effect starting on April 1, 2007.
Scroll down to see the listing of boats available (use code when reserving).

  • A Monthly Reservation Sheet will be available on the first Sunday of each month. Monthly reservations are on a first come, first served basis...and we will try to work around any scheduling conflicts. It is important that you are aware of the reserved boats (especially during peak times when classes are being held so you do not take out a boat that is scheduled to be used).
  • A member may reserve the same boat for no more than three days per week. A different boat my be reserved for the remaining days a member wishes to row  (or, if the preferred boat is not reserved the member may use the boat).
  • There is a 15 minute rule...if someone has not arrived to row their reserved boat 15 minutes after the reservation time, you are welcome to use that boat.
  • It is important to know the VBC Policies on Boat Usage and Reservations
  • Please let our club equipment manager, know if boats/oars need repair. Also, please contact a VBC Officer if you are not sure which boat you are best suited to row.
  • REMEMBER, if you are a new rower, you must row at least 50 miles in an Alden Star before trying another boat...
  • PLEASE BE SURE TO WASH and/or WIPE DOWN THE BOATS AFTER EACH USE!

The Fleet - VBC Inventory (Updated 3/28/2007)
VBC Club Boats are now marked with a code & a certification level per the VBC's Sculling Policy. Please be sure you are certified to use a specific boat (ask a VBC Officer if you are unsure). Always use code in the log book.
